We’re stoked to be involved with Safer Boating Week this week. Millions of New Zealanders will be out on the water in recreational crafts this summer. Following basic safety advice can help to save your life.

Paddle craft are more likely to capsize than non-paddle craft. Make sure when you’re out on the water you know the rules:

• Wear a lifejacket
• Take two waterproof ways to call for help
• Check the marine weather forecast
• Avoid alcohol
• Be a responsible skipper
